Remember Vine? The video service where users could share six-second- long looping video clips.
Vine was a video-sharing service and app that let users film and share super short video clips that could be put together in one six-second-long video (aka vine) that played in a continuous loop. Why was it named Vine? It’s short for Vignette, which is defined as “a short impressionistic scene.”
In April of 2013, Vine became the most-downloaded free app within the iOS App Store but competition from Snapchat and Instagram quickly took their toll.
Vine was discontinued by Twitter (its parent company) in January 2017 and two of Vine’s co-creators have since moved on and created HQTrivia.
Vine’s short time in the spotlight managed to generate its fair shore of memes. See if you know these Vine references, by taking this finish the vine quiz below.
